PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle controller capable of improving the operability by preventing occurrence of acceleration delay by starting an engine when the vehicle fails in acquiring a piece of information of an intersection position via a communication, or by precisely determining a situation in which the vehicle makes a right/left turn crossing an opposite lane at a point other than intersection.SOLUTION: A vehicle capable of automatically stopping an engine under predetermined conditions includes: outside recognition means that acquires a piece of information of positional relationship and relative speed relative to another vehicle; and right/left turning intention acquisition means that acquires a piece of information of right/left turning intention of the own vehicle. When acquiring a piece of information of positional relationship and relative speed relative to the other vehicle and the right/left turning intention information, the vehicle controller controls the engine to start or stop.

    【課題】自車が通信などを用いて交差点位置情報を取得できない場合や、交差点以外の場所で対向車線を横断して右左折を行う状況を精度良く見極めてエンジンを始動させ、加速遅れの発生を抑制することができ、操作性が向上する車両制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】所定の条件下でエンジンを自動停止することができる車両において、前記車両に搭載された外界認識手段により 、他車両との位置関係及び相対速度情報を取得し、右左折意図取得手段により自車の右左折意図情報を取得し、前記他車両との位置関係及び相対速度情報と前記右左折意図情報を取得した時に、エンジンの始動もしくはエンジンの停止の抑制を実施する。【選択図】 図1
