PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a surface-treated metal film excellent in brilliancy, rust prevention, and peeling resistance, and further to eliminate the possibility that the sharpening and projection of the metal film on impact make a dangerous situation to a human body.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for an impact resistant automobile component, which requires resistance against an impact and keeps the surface treated with an island-like metal film which follows a substrate deformation caused by impact, includes: a step of forming a substrate 11 in an original form of an impact resistant automobile component; a step of forming a metal film 13 by performing electroless plating on a base coat layer 12 deposited on the substrate 11; a step of forming an island-like metal film composed of an aggregate of fine metal regions 14 of island structure and having visibility of an integral brilliant surface by splitting the metal film 13 in discontinuity with cracks 15; and a step of coating the fine metal regions 14 of the island-like metal film to form a light-transmitting top coat layer 16 in contact with the base coat layer 12 by penetrating into the cracks 15.

    【課題】表面処理の金属膜を光輝性、防錆性、耐剥離性に優れるものとし、更に、衝撃時に金属膜の鋭利化、飛び出しで人体に危険な状況を作り出す可能性を無くす。【解決手段】衝撃に対する耐性が要求され、且つ表面に衝撃による基材変形に追従する島状金属膜が施される耐衝撃性自動車部品の製造方法であって、耐衝撃性自動車部品の原形形状の基材11を形成する工程と、基材11上に成膜されたベースコート層12上に、無電解めっきを施して金属膜13を形成する工程と、基材11と金属膜13との内部応力差により、金属膜13をクラック15で不連続に分割して、島状構造の微細金属領域14の集合体からなり、一体的な光輝面の視認性を有する島状金属膜を形成する工程と、島状金属膜の微細金属領域14を被覆し、且つクラック15に入り込んでベースコート層12と接触するように、透光性のトップコート層16を形成する工程を備える。【選択図】図1
