PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accident detection device that can detect an accident while restricting reduction in acceleration detection sensitivity.SOLUTION: Acceleration sensors 11a and 12a detect acceleration to acquire a time from when the acceleration becomes equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold until when it becomes less than the threshold. When a condition based on the time is met, an accident of a railway vehicle 1 is detected. Thus, the acceleration sensors 11a and 12a with a smaller measuring range can be used without the necessity of adopting an acceleration sensor with a wider measuring range within which an expected maximum value of acceleration is present. As a result, reduction in a detection sensitivity of acceleration with a low G generated during normal running can be restricted, enabling accident detection while restricting the detection sensitivity reduction.

    【課題】加速度の検出感度の低下を抑制しつつ事故の検知を可能にできる事故検知装置を提供すること。【解決手段】加速度センサ11a,12aにより加速度を検出し、その加速度が所定の閾値以上になる時からその閾値未満になる時までの時間が取得される。その時間に基づく条件の成立によって鉄道車両1の事故の発生を検知する。そのため、予想される加速度の最大値が測定範囲を超えないような測定範囲の広い加速度センサを採用する必要がなく、測定範囲の小さい加速度センサ11a,12aを使用できる。その結果、通常の走行時などに発生する低Gの加速度の検出感度が低下することを抑制できるので、加速度の検出感度の低下を抑制しつつ事故の検知を可能にできる。【選択図】図1
