PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail inspection device of a passenger conveyor capable of accurately inspecting bulge of a handrail with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A handrail inspection device of a passenger conveyor includes: a range measurement sensor scanning laser beam to the front face in a width direction crossing a direction in which a handrail is driven and obtaining a first distance up to the front face and two-dimensional distance data up to the front face of the width direction; a distance sensor which is provided to face the range measurement sensor across the handrail so as to obtain a second distance up to a rear face; and an arithmetic section performing a first determination to determine a change in the shape of the front face by performing a comparative analysis between front face shape data generated from the two-dimensional distance data and reference data set in advance, performing a second determination to determine an increase in thickness by performing a comparative analysis between thickness of the handrail obtained using the first distance and second distance and the reference data and determining bulge of the handrail on the basis of the first determination and the second determination.

    【課題】本発明は、簡易な構造で手摺の膨らみを正確に検査できる乗客コンベアの手摺検査装置を得ることを目的とする。【解決手段】乗客コンベアの手摺検査装置は、手摺が駆動されている方向と交差する幅方向に表面にレーザー光を走査し、表面までの第1距離及び幅方向の表面までの2次元の距離データを得る測域センサーと、手摺を挟んで測域センサーと対向して設けられ、裏面までの第2距離を得る距離センサーと、2次元の距離データから生成した表面形状データとあらかじめ設定された基準データとを比較解析して表面の形状の変化を判定する第1判定を行い、第1距離及び第2距離を用いて得た手摺の厚さと基準データとを比較解析して厚さの増加を判定する第2判定を行うとともに、第1判定及び第2判定に基づいて手摺の膨らみを判断する演算部と、を備えたものである。【選択図】図2
