PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship and a noise reduction method for the ship, which can reduce the propagation of noises from a main engine and auxiliary machines in an engine room to a living quarter to reduce noises in the living quarter only by using a simple and relatively-light weight noise insulation member.SOLUTION: Over a main engine 20 in an engine room 10 of a ship 1, a noise insulation member 30 is provided to be closable and openable or extendable and storable on a structural member 12 on an engine room 10 side, which lies above the main engine 20, to reduce the propagation of noises from the main engine 20 to a living quarter 5b. Likewise, in a ship 1 equipped with a deck 12 having an opening 12a over a main engine 20 in an engine room 10, a noise insulation member 30 is provided to be able to close and open a part or all of the opening 12a or cover a part or all of the opening 12a to reduce the propagation of noises from the main engine 20 to a living quarter 5b.

    【課題】簡単で比較的軽量の騒音遮蔽部材を用いるだけで、機関室内の主機関や補機器から居住区への騒音の伝播を低減できて、居住区の騒音を低減できる船舶及び船舶の騒音低減方法を提供する。【解決手段】船舶1の機関室10の主機関20よりも上方において、主機関20よりも上方にある機関室10側の構造部材12に騒音遮蔽部材30を閉鎖及び開放可能、又は、展開及び収納可能に設けて、主機関20から居住区5bへの騒音の伝播を減少する。また、機関室10の主機関20の上方に、開口部12aを有する甲板12を備えた船舶1において、開口部12aの一部又は全部を開閉可能に開口部12aの一部又は全部を覆う騒音遮蔽部材30を設けて、主機関20から居住区5bへの騒音の伝播を減少するように構成する。【選択図】図1
