PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten position information acquisition time without the need to install new equipment.SOLUTION: The present invention adopts a position detection system in which an on-vehicle device 1 that includes a position detector 3 mounted in a vehicle and detecting a position of the vehicle, a communication unit 5 holding a communication, and a CPU unit 2 controlling the position detector 3 and the communication unit 5 is provided in each of the vehicle and the other vehicle, each on-vehicle device 1 including a GPS orbit information processing unit 4 acquiring GPS orbit information on the vehicle, the communication unit 5 of the vehicle transmitting a GPS orbit information request by broadcast transmission, the communication unit 5 of the other vehicle transmitting the GPS orbit information held therein to the communication unit 5 of the vehicle if a distance to the vehicle is within a predetermined value, the GPS orbit information processing unit 4 feeding the GPS orbit information from the other vehicle to the position detector 3, and the position detector 3 of the vehicle outputting position information on the vehicle on the basis of the GPS orbit information.

    【課題】新たな設備の設置を必要とせず位置情報の取得時間を短縮することを目的とする。【解決手段】車両に搭載され車両の位置を検出する位置検出部3と、通信を行う通信部5と、位置検出部3及び通信部5の制御を行うCPU部2と、を備える車載器1が、車両と他の車両のそれぞれに設けられた位置検出システムにおいて、各車載器1は、それぞれの車両のGPS軌道情報を取得するGPS軌道情報処理部4を備え、車両の通信部5は、GPS軌道情報要求を同報送信し、他の車両の通信部5は、車両との距離が所定値以内の場合保持しているGPS軌道情報を車両の通信部5へ送信し、GPS軌道情報処理部4は、他の車両からのGPS軌道情報を位置検出部3へ渡し、車両の位置検出部3は、GPS軌道情報に基づき車両の位置情報を出力することを特徴とする位置検出システムを採用する。【選択図】図1
