PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship propulsion machine which enables the fluidity of an oil to increase in a front space located at the front side of a front gear and a rear space located at the rear side of the front gear.SOLUTION: A ship propulsion machine 201 includes: a drive shaft 10 rotationally driven by an engine; a drive gear 22 connected with the drive shaft 10; a front gear 23 which engages with the drive gear 22; a rear gear 24 which engages with the drive gear 22 and is disposed at the rear side of the front gear 23; a dog clutch 25 which selectively engages with one of the front gear 23 and the rear gear 24; and an oil passage 256 which passes through the interior of the front gear 23 and guides an oil from a front space Sf located at the front side of the front gear 23 to a rear space Sr located at the rear side of the front gear 23.
