PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of detecting a vehicle height without separately arranging a measurement part.SOLUTION: A vehicle height detection device 16 detects a vehicle height by using a value of a tire pressure obtained from an air pressure sensor 14 of a vehicle 10. A first operation unit obtains the value of the tire pressure when the vehicle is parked and calculates a reference air pressure by correcting a pressure change in response to an outside air temperature when the vehicle is parked. A second operation unit obtains the value of the tire pressure during travelling and calculates a corrected travelling air pressure by correcting both of a pressure change in response to the outside air temperature during travelling and a pressure change corresponding to an increase in a tire temperature by travelling. A third operation unit calculates a weight of the vehicle 10 during travelling by comparing the reference air pressure and the corrected travelling air pressure, and calculates a vehicle height of the vehicle 10 during travelling from the obtained weight. The first operation unit obtains the value of the tire pressure when the vehicle is parked after a predetermined time passes from when an engine of the vehicle 10 is turned off.

    【課題】計測部を別途設けることなく、車高を検出する技術を提供する。【解決手段】車両10の空気圧センサ14から取得したタイヤ空気圧の値を用いて車高を検出する車高検出装置16であって、第1演算部は、駐車時におけるタイヤ空気圧の値を取得し、駐車時の外気温に応じた圧力変化分を補正することにより基準空気圧を算出する。第2演算部は、走行時におけるタイヤ空気圧の値を取得し、走行時の外気温に応じた圧力変化分と、走行によるタイヤの温度上昇に対応する圧力変化分と、の双方を補正することにより、補正された走行時空気圧を算出する。第3演算部は、基準空気圧と補正された走行時空気圧とを比較して、走行時における車両10の重量を算出し、得られた重量から当該車両10の走行時の車高を算出する。第1演算部は、車両10のエンジンがオフとなった後所定時間の経過を待ってから、駐車時におけるタイヤ空気圧の値を取得する。【選択図】図1
