PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a cushion rubber that has a high vulcanization rate and has excellent tensile strength and to provide a retreaded tire using the rubber composition for a cushion rubber.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a cushion rubber comprises a diene rubber including at least a styrene/butadiene rubber, carbon black, and an isocyanuric acid derivative and/or a carboxylic acid derivative each having a specific structure with three or more mercapto groups, and has a content of carbon black of 10-60 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene rubber and a content of the isocyanuric acid derivative and/or the carboxylic acid derivative of 0.1-6.0 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the diene rubber. The rubber composition for a cushion rubber is used in the production of a retreaded tire.
