PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body rear structure which can suppress large bulge to a vehicle rear part, and can favorably absorb an impact load inputted to a rear end of a vehicle, and its assembling method.SOLUTION: A vehicle body rear structure 10 comprises a rear cross member 21 which is bridged between left and right side frames 15, 16, and left and right pillar parts 23, 24 which are extended from the rear cross member 21. A right-outside joining part 47 of the rear cross member 21 and a right-inside joining part 51 of the right pillar part 24 are joined to each other, and a right joining part 27 is formed. The left pillar part 23 and the rear cross member 21 are formed at a continuous closed cross section via the right joining part 27. A rear end of the right side frame 16 is extended to the inside 60 of the right joining part 27, and the extended rear end is joined to the right joining part 27.

    【課題】車体後方への大きな膨らみを抑えることができ、かつ、車両の後端部に入力した衝撃荷重を良好に吸収することができる車体後部構造およびその組立方法を提供する。【解決手段】車体後部構造10は、左右のサイドフレーム15,16に亘らされたリヤクロスメンバ21と、リヤクロスメンバ21から延ばされる左右のピラー部23,24とを備える。リヤクロスメンバ21の右外側接合部47および右ピラー部24の右内側接合部51が接合されて右接合部27が形成される。この右接合部27を介して左ピラー部23およびリヤクロスメンバ21が連続する閉断面に形成される。右接合部27の内部60に右サイドフレーム16の後端部が延ばされ、延ばされた後端部が右接合部27に接合される。【選択図】図7
