PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an image viewed from the top of a vehicle for facilitating recognition of a three-dimensional object.SOLUTION: Plural overhead images are created by independently correcting images which are taken by plural cameras each of which is disposed at a position different from each other; front and rear, right and left etc. of vehicle and a composite image is created by composing the created plural overhead images. An image processing section creates a composite image including joint areas in which display areas of plural overhead images to be joined to each other are preset so as to change as the time passes. For example, a composite image is created, in which a first image and a second image to be joined with each other are disposed alternately in a strip-like pattern, and the joint area is preset so that the position of the strip-like pattern changes as the time passes.

    【課題】立体オブジェクトを認識し易くした車両上部からの視点画像を生成する。【解決手段】車両の前後左右等、異なる位置に配置した複数のカメラの撮影画像を個別に補正して複数の俯瞰画像を生成し、生成した複数の俯瞰画像を接合して合成画像を生成する。画像処理部は、接合対象となる複数の俯瞰画像の表示領域を時間推移に伴って変化する設定とした接合領域を有する合成画像を生成する。例えば接合対象となる第1の画像と第2の画像を短冊状に交互に設定し、短冊位置を時間推移に伴って変化する設定とした接合領域を有する合成画像を生成する。【選択図】図13
