PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a speed of a vehicle more accurately without depending on equipment on a road.SOLUTION: A vehicle speed measurement apparatus includes: first speed detection units 21, 210 for detecting an estimated speed Vof a vehicle 1, on the basis of a rotation speed of a driving system 14 mounted on the vehicle; second speed detection units 22, 220 which transmit an electromagnetic wave or a sound wave from the vehicle 1 toward a plurality of objects A, B, C..., receive the electromagnetic wave or the sound wave reflected by the objects A, B, C..., and detect relative speeds V, V, V... of the vehicle 1 with respect to each of the objects; and an actual speed calculation unit 240 which calculates an actual speed Vof the vehicle 1, on the basis of the estimated speed Vand the relative speeds V, V, V.... The actual speed calculation unit 240 calculates the actual speed Vby use of the plurality of relative speeds which fall within a predetermined range, out of the relative speeds V, V, V..., from the estimated speed V.
【課題】道路上の設備に依存せずに、より正確に自動車の速度を測定すること。【解決手段】車両1に搭載された駆動系14の回転速度に基づいて前記車両の推定速度Vωを検出する第1速度検出部21、210と、車両1から複数の対象物A,B,C・・・に向かって電磁波または音波を送信し、対象物A,B,C・・・で反射した電磁波または音波を受信し、受信した電磁波または音波に基づいて、複数の対象物の各々に対する車両1の相対速度VA,VB,VC・・・を検出する第2速度検出部22、220と、推定速度Vωと、相対速度VA,VB,VC・・・とに基づいて車両1の実速度VRを算出する実速度算出部240とを備え、実速度算出部240は、相対速度VA,VB,VC・・・のうち、推定速度Vωから所定の範囲内にある複数の相対速度を用いて実速度VRを算出する。【選択図】図3
