PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal addition device for supporting passage of a cross walk by a sight handicapped person.SOLUTION: Plural transmitters 20 are provided on a brace P of a signal 540 for pedestrian, and transmission wave outputted from the respective transmitters 20 covers whole area of a cross walk ZC. Among these transmitters 20, the transmitter 20 installed on a higher position is configured so that the transmission wave outputted from which reaches a distant direction. In other words, when a sight handicapped person U walks from the other end side to one end side of the cross walk ZC, as the person comes close to one end side, height positions of the transmitters 20 transmitting transmission wave capable of being received, become lower. As the result, a receiver 300 carried by the sight handicapped person U can clearly detect a direction where the sight handicapped person U should go, the transmission direction of the transmission wave is one end side, even when the person comes close to one end side of the cross walk ZC.

    【課題】視覚障害者による横断歩道の通行を支援する実用的な交通信号付加装置の実現。【解決手段】歩行者用信号機540の支柱Pに複数の発信器20を設け、各発信器20の発信波によって横断歩道ZCの全域をカバーする。また、これらの発信器20のうち、設置された高さ位置の高い発信器20の方が、発信波が遠方に届くように設定される。換言すると、横断歩道ZCの他端側から一端側に向かって視覚障害者Uが歩行する場合、一端側に近づくにつれて、受信可能な発信波を発信する発信器20の高さ位置が低くなる。この結果、視覚障害者Uが携帯する受信機300は、横断歩道ZCの一端側に近づいたとしても、発信波の発信方向が一端側であること、すなわち視覚障害者Uが進むべき方向を明確に検知することができる。【選択図】図2
