A cover for enclosing the hull of a boat as it sits in the water. The cover comprises sheeting has a substantially rectangular section with a tapering section towards the front of the boat. The sheeting comprises two layers, the lower layer has lower density than the surrounding water and has a triangular cut-out section 3. This cut-out section enables steeper hull profiles to be accommodated without causing the sheeting to buckle. The cover further comprises buoyant rods 1 that run along the long and front edges of the cover and may be fitted inside fabric channel sleeves. Preferably the sheeting is raised at the rear 2 manually after the boat is secured to the sheeting to prevent further water entering. A pump may be used to remove excess water from between the sheeting and the hull. The upper layer may have higher density than the water and may comprise PVC or woven glass fibre sealed with a polymer coating. The lower layer may comprise LDPE bubble material.
