The invention relates to Intelligent Transport Systems, ITS, providing ITS services where an ITS station, ITS-S, is tested. ITS messages broadcast by the Station Under Test, SUT, is signed with an authorization ticket, AT. The same dedicated Test ITS-application identifier, ITS AID, is used in the AT for multiple operational ITS services under test, while the specific authorizations at ITS service level are signalled in the Service Specific Permissions, SSP, section of the ATs. The SSP can signal a unique authorized service or list several of them. The testing system deduces the type, hence the format, of the broadcast ITS message (carrying the dedicated Test ITS AID) from the SSP section of the AT or from the message ITS itself. It also checks, using the SSP section, that the ITS station is allowed to use the ITS service (under test) corresponding to the deduced message type. The disclosure proposes an alternative way to identify the test response ITS messages, that does not require mirroring the regular ITS-AIDs, hence saving AID values that are rare resources. Also disclosed is an Authorization Authority, AA, configured to provide, to an ITS station under test, one or more Test authorisation tickets.
