Provided is a mirror apparatus 10 suitable for use with a vehicle that is towing a wide load such as a caravan or trailer. The apparatus 10 comprises a mirror 12 connected to an arm 14, and a clamp 18 mounted on the arm 14 and suitable for connecting the arm to a vehicle wing mirror 42. The clamp 18 comprises a frame 26 and a moveable clamping member having an engaging portion (36, Fig. 2) with a flexible concave engaging surface (40, Fig. 2). The engaging portion (36, Fig. 2) may have two curved layers (44, 46, Fig. 4) of different materials of differing relative stiffness, such as metal and rubber / soft plastics. The concave engaging surface (40, Fig. 4) may have longitudinal ridges (48, Fig. 3) and holes (50, Fig. 4), suitable for allowing the throughflow of rainwater, that pass through the flexible layer (46, Fig. 4) but not through the stiff layer (44, Fig. 4).
