A forklift reach mechanism has a vertical mast 12 with a carriage 14. A main support 16 is pivotally connected to the carriage at one end 18 and to a forklift assembly, such as a set of forks, at the other end 20. A levelling assembly has upper and lower arms 22, 24 pivotally connected at 26 with the upper arm pivotally connected to the carriage at 28 and the lower arm fixed to the mast at 30. A connecting member 32 connects the levelling assembly to the min support at 34. An extensible actuating member 36, such as a hydraulic cylinder, pivotally connects the carriage at 38 and the connecting member at 40. A secondary support 46, such as a pair of tilt cylinders, may be connected between the forklift assembly at 42 and the carriage at 28. A side-shift actuator may also be fitted to the mechanism.
