A vehicle active openable/closable grille shutter vane 22 has a continuous cambered attachment surface from a leading edge 27 to a trailing edge 28 to encourage attachment of airflow to the vane when the shutter assembly is open, the trailing edge 28 having a concave surface shape 42 to contact the cambered surface of an adjacent vane when closed. The vane may include a vortex geometry fin 43 or stiffening rib 40, as vortex generating features, and the leading edge 27 is filleted. The vane has a chord to maximum thickness ratio of between 5% and 15%, or between 5% and 10%, and camber maximum amount and position ranges are disclosed.
