An apparatus attached near the tip end of a cantilevered aircraft wing for controlling the loads on the wing. The apparatus comprises a first body 21a having a mass rotatable about a first axis by an actuator device 23a; and a second body 21b adjacent to the first body and having a mass rotatable about a second axis by an actuator device 23b. The first and second bodies each have a centre of mass offset from their respective axes and are configured to counter rotate about their respective axes. The apparatus can be retrofitted to an aircraft at its wingtip. The apparatus enables the wing to react to dynamic or gust loads to reduce loading on the wings.
