A device for the removal of foreign objects M from between coils of a wireless power transfer (charging) system, comprising: a surface 26 covering a coil C2 comprising a plurality of fluid ejection holes H for forcing the obstruction away; and a removal unit 30 connected to the holes. The removal unit has a plurality of sensors 34 to detect a flow rate or pressure supplied to the holes thereby determining whether a foreign object is present. The control unit may determine whether or a foreign object is present from whether the detected pressure or flow value satisfies a threshold and alter the flow rate accordingly. A control unit 35 may change the output of a fluid supply unit based on the detected flow or pressure value. The control unit may set the flow rate of an obstructed hole H to a higher output than an unobstructed hole H2-3. The fluid ejection holes may be arranged in a concentric pattern wherein the inner diameter of the fluid ejection holes may increase with radial distance from the centre.
