A user-vehicle interface 4 has a gesture control system 6, arranged to sense a gesture of a user 12 of a vehicle, such as an aircraft. The gesture control system is arranged to process the sensed gesture to control interaction with content on a display 15, 16, in accordance with that sensed gesture. The vehicle has a physical actuator 70 for controlling the vehicle, and the gesture control system is arranged to facilitate interaction with content on the display, when a body part of the user, such as hand 10, associated with a provision of the gesture is engaged with the actuator. A degree of control may be facilitated by the gesture control system through an enabling or disabling of gesture control or a different sense-control scaling factor. Also, a location of an indicator on the display is arranged to move continuously and proportionally in accordance with changes in the sensed direction.
