A valve support (hydraulic valve block) comprising a through bore 7 to accommodate a linear actuator (a piston) in its entirety, a bore 13 for a pedal feel simulator (PFS) and four bores 12 for output ports. The block is for a hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU) braking system and through bore 7 is included longitudinally to allow the motor shaft (3.1, fig 3b) to be parallel to the ECU (4, fig. 3b). The PFS bore 13 is parallel to the LAC bore 7 but below it in use. The output ports 12 are equally spaced apart and perpendicular to the LAC bore 7 but below it to allow more space for output port connection relative to a firewall in both right hand and left hand drive vehicles (see figure 6). The support is also suitable for holding a tandem master cylinder TMC (14, fig. 3). The block may comprise two cuboid sections: a base 6.1, and a rib 6.2, with the same length in the longitudinal direction, but the rib having a smaller cross sectional area than the base, e.g. together forming a t-shaped cross section. The rib may include a triangular flange 8 at one end.
