A vehicle (10, Fig.1) door (20) includes a door inner (24), a beam (30) having a first end 32 and a second end (52) spaced from each other along a longitudinal axis, and a bracket 36. The bracket is fixed to the door inner and the beam, with the bracket between the door inner and the first end of the beam. The beam includes a cutout 34 extending along the longitudinal axis to the first end. The cutout may taper along the longitudinal axis toward the first end, and may face the bracket. The bracket may comprise a reinforcing rib 40, elongated along the longitudinal axis, between the door inner and the beam at the cutout. The bracket may further comprise two supporting ribs 48 extending either side of the beam and fixed to the beam. The beam may be disposed in a trough (46, Fig.4A) between the two supporting ribs. The bracket may comprise a base 38, a ramp 42 and a platform 44, forming a stepped cross-section, where two support ribs may be disposed on the platform and the reinforcing rib may be disposed on the base. The support ribs may taper at their end 50 proximate to the ramp.
