A method of detecting sustained landing by detecting a change in vibrations, such as the vibrations of a part of the aircraft, such as the bogie bar of the landing gear. This may be done by installing the bogie bar with a vibration transducer 200, and it may detect vibrations from a vibrator 500. The transducer may send signals to analyser 305, which in turn may activate a trigger 310 on detecting landing conditions, which is fed into the aircraft control system 315. The analyser may analyse information based on the time domain or frequency domain of the vibration transducers input.
