A braking system includes a brake device 114 to apply a braking force to a machine. A hydraulic brake system 100 includes a hydraulic reservoir that is coupled to a hydraulic valve 110 which is further coupled to the brake device 114. An accumulator is connected to a second hydraulic circuit. The accumulator is configured to store a pressurized fluid and further selectively releases the pressurized fluid to a hydraulic actuator 138 via an accumulator valve 136 to operate the brake device 114. A first actuation mechanism 141 is coupled with a brake pedal 104 to actuate the hydraulic valve 110 based on a movement of the brake pedal 104. A second actuation mechanism 142, preferably of an emergency brake system 130, is coupled with the brake pedal 104 to actuate the accumulator valve 136, via arm 160 and button 144, based on a movement of the brake pedal 104 beyond a predetermined movement threshold.
