A method of tensioning/detensioning closure studs 18 arranged about the circumference of a reactor vessel 14 to attach an integrated head package (IHP) 16. The method comprises: supporting a stud tensioner on a trolley 10; moving the trolley from a stored position to a position adjacent the reactor; and, engaging the tensioner with one or more studs to tension or detension the studs. A trolley may have a support frame 26 to which a plurality of wheels 30 and a handling device 42 are mounted. The trolley may travel laterally along a horizontal plane that is vertically aligned with an upper opening in the vessel. The trolley may move along tracks or rails 34. A second stud tensioner may be included. The stud tensioners may be rotated about the vessel. The stud tensioners may be multi-stud tensioners. The trolley may have a gantry 40 and/or a winch 46.
