A power supply system (100) installed in a vehicle includes a first load circuit (1), a second load circuit (2), a first relay (4), a second relay (5), and a controller (6). The first load circuit (1) operates using electric power from a main battery (11), and is connected to a first load (12) necessary to continue a normal driving mode by a driver. The second load circuit (2) operates using electric power from the main battery (11) or an additional battery (21), and is connected to a second load (22 to 24) necessary to continue an autonomous driving mode. The first relay (4) is provided on a power supply line (3) for connecting the first load (12) and the second load (22 to 24) to electrically connect or disconnect the first load circuit (1) to or from the second load circuit (2). The second relay (5) electrically connects or disconnects the second load (22-24) to or from the additional battery (21). The controller (6) determines a state of a switch (68) for starting the vehicle.
