A transport system includes: a transported object having a long shape in plan view; a station; and an automated guided vehicle including a lifting platform on which the transported object is placed, the automated guided vehicle being configured to self-travel along a predetermined traveling route. The automated guided vehicle has a total length of a vehicle body shorter than a dimension in a longitudinal direction of the transported object in plan view, and a vehicle body width shorter than a dimension in a lateral direction of the transported object in plan view. The automated guided vehicle performs a first traveling direction change operation of changing a traveling direction of the automated guided vehicle so that the traveling direction of the automated guided vehicle is in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the transported object in a state of being under the lower part of the transported object.
