The invention relates to a travel drive, in particular for a driverless transport system (1), with a steering unit (3), a drive unit (4) and a wheel suspension system (5), wherein the wheel suspension system (5) is mounted rotatably about a vertical rotational axis (6), and the wheel suspension system (5) mounts a wheel hub (8) of a wheel (2). The steering unit (3) has a steering gear (9). The steering gear (9) has at least one worm shaft (10) and a worm gear (11). The worm gear (11) is fixed on the wheel suspension system (5) in such a way that an axis of the worm gear (11) runs coaxially with respect to the vertical rotational axis (6). The worm shaft (10) meshes with the worm gear (11). The worm shaft (10) rotates the worm gear (11) in order to transmit a steering movement about the vertical rotational axis (6). The wheel hub (8) is arranged in such a way that a centre plane (15), running orthogonally with respect to a rotational axis (14) of the wheel (2), of the wheel (2) runs parallel to, but with an offset (X) from, the vertical rotational axis (6). The drive unit (4) has a drive transmission (16). The drive transmission (16) has at least one driven wheel (20) and a drive shaft (21) with an input wheel (22) and an output wheel (23). The drive shaft (21) runs parallel to the vertical rotational axis (6) of the wheel suspension system (5). The driven wheel (20) meshes with the input wheel (22) and generates a rotation of the drive shaft (21) in order to transmit a drive movement. The output wheel (23) is operatively connected to a drive wheel (24) of the wheel hub (8). The drive shaft (21) is fixed on the worm gear (11) so as to be stationary but rotatable about its own axis.
