The invention relates to a current collector (1) having a vehicle-side base frame (2) and having lower scissors (3), which are fastened to the base frame (2), and also upper scissors (4), which are fastened to the lower scissors (3), with respective link rods (6, 7), and also having a current collector rocker (5) which is fastened to the upper scissors (4) and has contact strips (8) for contacting a current-conducting upper line, wherein a height adjuster (9) is arranged on the base frame (2) in order to pivot the lower scissors (3) with respect to the base frame (2), wherein the height adjuster (9) has an electric linear drive, wherein the linear drive is connected to a carriage which is mounted on the base frame (2) in a translationally displaceable manner, wherein the carriage can be displaced by the linear drive from a parked position into a lifting position, wherein the carriage is connected to the lower scissors (3) via a tension spring in order to bring about a pivoting movement of the lower scissors (3) into a raised position.
