The invention relates to a charging station for supplying AC current to an electrical vehicle. The station comprises a charging socket for connecting with a charging plug of a charging cable, an input terminal for receiving AC current from an electric AC power source, a monitoring circuit for monitoring at least one charging related signal, wherein the at least one charging related signal relates to a condition for maintaining or generating a cut-off between the electric power source and the charging socket to de-energize the charging socket, a first communication circuit arranged to communicate a control signal out of the charging station to a second communication unit of a receiver system, wherein the control signal is based on the monitored charging related signal.
