Aspects of the present invention relate to charging control system (1) for controlling a vehicle-to-vehicle charging between a charge provider vehicle (V2) and a charge receiver vehicle (V1). The charging control system (1) includes a controller (15) configured to identify the charge provider vehicle (V2) and the charge receiver vehicle (V1). The controller (15) receives at least one vehicle connected signal (SVC1, SVC2) to indicate that the charge provider vehicle (V2) and the charge receiver vehicle (V1) are connected to each other. The controller (15) is configured to generate a charge confirmation request (CCR1, CCR2) in dependence on receipt of the vehicle connected signal (SVC1, SVC2); and to receive a charge approval signal (SCA1, SCA2) in dependence on the charge confirmation request (CCR1, CCR2). The controller (15) is configured to output at least one charge initiation signal (SIN1, SIN2) to initiate the vehicle-to-vehicle charging in dependence on receipt of the charge approval signal (SCA1, SCA2). Aspects of the present invention also relate to a method of controlling a vehicle-to-vehicle charging operation, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium.
