Provided is a brake device (10, 30) capable of grasping abnormal operation of the brake device (10, 30) based on information acquired from the brake device (10, 30). The brake device (10, 30) applies brake to a vehicle having a target member (2, 3) by using an electric actuator (11, 31) to drive a friction member (14, 34A, 34B) so that the friction member (14, 34A, 34B) is pressed against the target member (2, 3). The brake device (10, 30) includes: an acquiring unit (22) for acquiring drive information of the electric actuator (11, 31); a calculation unit (23) for calculating a first value based on the acquired drive information, the first value being at least one of a moving distance traveled by the friction member (14, 34A, 34B) or a required time taken until the friction member (14, 34A, 34B) reaches a predetermined position; and a determination unit (24) for determining whether abnormal operation has occurred by comparing the first value to a standard value.
