Wheeled aircraft landing gear typically includes a sleeve 10 arranged to protect the axle 9. Vibrations of the braking system and flexing of the axle can cause the axle 9 and sleeve 10 to rub and rotate relative to one another, elevating the temperature in this region and causing damage to the sleeve and/or axle. The invention provides an axle sleeve 10 having a low friction wear surface 19 on, for example, a portion of the internal surface. The low friction wear surface 19 comprises a ring 20 of composite material, such as fibres in a polymer matrix.
