An object is to provide a power supply system and a ship, a control method, and a control program that enable efficient power generation using an internal combustion engine. A power supply system (10) of a ship (1) includes a rechargeable battery (11) that is connected to a grid (3), a diesel generator (12) that is connected to the grid (3) and that generates power using an internal combustion engine, and a control device (15) that sets a maximum permissible load according to an amount of charge in the rechargeable battery (11), the maximum permissible load being an upper limit value of output of the diesel generator (12).
