Disclosed by the embodiments of the present application are an obstacle avoidance method and device used for a driverless vehicle. The detailed description of the preferred embodiment for said method comprises: in response to determining that there is an obstacle in a preset driving path, sending obstacle information to a preset terminal device so that the preset terminal device displays the obstacle information in a display page thereof, the obstacle information comprising an image of the obstacle and location information; receiving obstacle category information which is sent by the preset terminal device and which is inputted according to the displayed obstacle information; and determining an obstacle avoidance instruction for a driverless vehicle according to the obstacle category indicated by the category information. The present preferred embodiment reduces operations such as decreasing driving speed, swerving and even stopping the vehicle in order to avoid an obstacle, which improves driving time delays caused by obstacles.
