A system and method for providing dried inert gas to a protected space is disclosed. The system comprises a pressurized air flow path in operative fluid communication with a boost compressor (42) and a chemical inert gas generator (10); and an inert gas flow path in operative fluid communication with the chemical inert gas generator (10), a condenser (48) and the protected space, wherein the condenser (48) operates at a pressure greater than or equal to 2 atmospheres absolute pressure and is located between the chemical inert gas generator (10) and the protected space along the inert gas flow path.
