To improve a response of an electric power unit (8) to operations performed by a rider while an increase in weight of an electric power unit (8) is suppressed. An electric power unit (8) according to the present invention includes: an energy storing rotor body (82a) which stores kinetic energy by being rotated; a rotational speed boosting mechanism (86) which rotates the energy storing rotor body (82a) at a rotational speed higher than a rotational speed of an electric motor rotary shaft (Sh1); a clutch (83) which switches a transmission state and a shut-off state, wherein, in the transmission state, the rotation of the electric motor rotary shaft (Sh1) and the rotation of the energy storing rotor body (82a) are being transmitted to an output shaft (Sh5), and in the shut-off state, the rotation of the electric motor rotary shaft (Sh1) and the rotation of the energy storing rotor body (82a) are prevented from being transmitted to the output shaft (Sh5); and the output shaft (Sh5) which rotates a drive wheel (4), the output shaft (Sh5) being rotated, with the clutch (83) being in the transmission state, by the rotation of the electric motor rotary shaft (Sh1) and the rotation of the energy storing rotor body (82a) which are transmitted by the clutch (83).
