An aircraft cabin blower system (100) comprising: a transmission (110) configured to receive mechanical power from a first part of a gas turbine engine in the form of a first transmission input (119); and an electrical circuit comprising a first electrical machine (118), a second electrical machine (122), and a power management system (124), wherein an output of the transmission (110) is configured to drive a cabin blower compressor (102) when operating in a blower mode, the first electrical machine (118) being configured to receive mechanical power from a second part of the gas turbine engine and act as a generator to provide electrical power to the power management system (124), and the second electrical machine (122) being configured to act as a motor providing mechanical power to the transmission (110) in the form of a second transmission input (120), the second electrical machine (122) being driven by electrical power from the power management system (124).
