An alternating-current electric vehicle (3) includes a plurality of main transformers (TR1, TR2) electrically connected to an overhead wire in parallel, a plurality of circuit breakers (CB1, CB2) each connected between the overhead wire (1) and corresponding one of the plurality of main transformers (TR1, TR2), and a control device (18) configured to close and open the plurality of circuit breakers (CB1, CB2). When power feeding from the overhead wire (1) to the alternating-current electric vehicle (3) is started, the control device (18) provides a difference in a closing phase of an overhead wire voltage at the time of closing of the circuit breakers to sequentially close the plurality of circuit breakers (CB1, CB2).
