In a method of manufacturing a blower unit including an electric motor (169, first and second centrifugal fans (11, 12), a blower casing (10), first and second scroll casings (13, 14), a sealing material (17) that forms a seal between an opening forming portion of the blower casing and the electric motor, a bell mouth portion that guides an air flow to the second centrifugal fan, and a retaining portion that retains the sealing material, the method includes interposing the sealing material between the retaining portion and the electric motor, and attaching the bell mouth portion and the retaining portion to the electric motor, connecting the first and second centrifugal fans to the rotating shaft of the electric motor while the bell mouth portion and the retaining portion are attached to the electric motor, and closing the second opening portion of the blower casing by housing the first and second centrifugal fans in the first and second scroll casings respectively, and attaching the electric motor to the blower casing.
