Influence on a sensor due to leakage magnetic flux from a clutch that connects and disconnects a steering force transmission path is effectively reduced. A steering system includes a clutch (50) that is disposed in a steering force transmission path between a steering wheel (10) and steered wheels (16) and that mechanically disconnects the steering force transmission path when energized, and mechanically connects the steering force transmission path when de-energized, and a an upstream sensor (21) and a downstream sensor (22) each of which detects at least one of a steering torque and a steering angle in the steering force transmission path. At least one of the upstream sensor (21) and the downstream sensor (22) detects an energization status of the clutch (50). A detected value of at least one of the steering torque and the steering angle is corrected using a first correction value when the clutch (50) is energized, and the detected value of at least one of the steering torque and the steering angle is corrected using a second correction value different from the first correction value when the clutch (50) is de-energized.
