The apparatus (100) comprises at least two multi-layer insulation, MLI, blankets (110, 120), each MLI blanket (110, 120) having a least one bonding point (111, 112, 121, 122). Therein, a bonding point (111, 112) of a first MLI blanket (110) of the at least two MLI blankets (110, 120) is electrically connected to a bonding point (121, 122) of a second MLI blanket (120) of the at least two MLI blankets (110, 120). The second MLI blanket (120) further has a grounding point (123, 124) configured to be grounded. Further, a spacecraft comprising such an apparatus (100) is disclosed. Moreover, a method comprising providing at least two MLI blankets (110, 120) and electrically connecting a bonding point (111, 112) of a first MLI blanket (110) to a bonding point (121, 122) of a second MLI blanket (120) is disclosed.
