The invention relates to a data transmission device having an elongate hollow profile (9) with a cavity (10) running in a longitudinal direction of the hollow profile (9) and a longitudinal slot (8) running in the longitudinal direction and a transceiver unit (16), as well as a device (1) for conducting electrical energy between a charging station (3) and a consumer (AGV) which can move with respect to the charging station (3), wherein the device (1) has a charging head (2) with contact elements (14, 14') for establishing an electrical connection between the consumer (AGV) and the charging station (3). The invention solves the problem of permitting low-maintenance and at the same time simple, safe and highly reliable transmission of data, which is as robust as possible with respect to external environment influences and is as far as possible low in interference or free from interference, between the charging station and the consumer, by virtue of the fact that the hollow profile (9) and/or the transceiver unit (16) can move with respect to one another in order to retract and extend the transceiver unit (16) from and into the longitudinal slot (8) of the hollow profile (9) in at least one deployment direction (Z) by means of a deployment device, and by means of a device (1) as mentioned above with such a data transmission device.
