In one embodiment, a hybrid aircraft (115) includes a fixed-wing propulsion system (130) and a multirotor propulsion system (120). The multirotor propulsion system (120) includes a propeller (122) coupled to a motor shaft (310). A motor (124a) drives the propeller (122) via the motor shaft (310). The hybrid aircraft (115) further includes a magnetic orientation detent to prevent the propeller (122) of the multirotor propulsion system (120) from rotating when power to the multirotor propulsion system (120) is removed. The magnetic orientation detent further includes a plurality of magnets (322) coupled to the circumference of the motor shaft (310) and a detent magnet (330) magnetically coupled to the plurality of magnets (322).
