A seat control unit (SCU) for use in an aircraft can include a base (104) that has a wireless charger (508) configured to transmit a wireless power signal and a case (504) at least partially enclosing the wireless charger (508). The SCU can also include a control device (102) having a remote controller (202) configured to wirelessly control a system of the aircraft and an energy storage device (301) coupled to the remote controller (202) and configured to store electrical energy. The control device (102) also includes a wireless receiver (300) configured to receive the wireless power signal from the wireless charger (508) and transmit associated power to the energy storage device (301) and an outer casing (200) at least partially enclosing at least one of the remote controller (202) or the wireless receiver (300).
