A composite structure comprises stacked sets of laminated fiber reinforced resin plies (1308, 1310) and metal sheets (1314, 1318). Edges of the resin plies (1308, 13010) and metal sheets (1314, 1318) are interleaved to form a composite-to-metal joint connecting the resin plies with the metal sheets. The stacked sheets of laminated fiber reinforced resin plies (1308, 1310) are connected each toa side of a frame (1304) of the structure.
