In a charging port device for an electric vehicle according to the present invention, when charging is performed using a charging connector (2) having an engaging part (23d) adapted to be brought in engagement with an engaged part of the charging port, a lock mechanism is provided for achieving a lock state that restricts the releasing operation of the engaging part (23d) when the engaging part (23d) and the engaged part are in an engaged state, by a movement of a restricting member (71) in a lock direction and for achieving an unlocked state that permits the releasing of parration of the engaging part (23d) by the movement of the restricting member (71) in an unlocked direction. The lock mechanism comprises an electric drive mechanism for moving the restricting member (71) to an inner-side position by electrically applying a torque, in which the inner-side position is short of a predetermined position corresponding to a locked state or an unlocked state, when the restricting member (71) is to be moved to the predetermined position. A mechanical drive mechanism is provided for moving the restricting member (71) from the inner-side position to the predetermined position by mechanically applying torque.
