The present invention relates to a tire tread comprising a plurality of circumferential grooves (20) separating circumferential ribs, each groove (20) comprising a bottom (21) and two sidewalls (22, 23), and a plurality of laterally separated reinforcements (30). At least one reinforcement (30) is arranged adjacent each circumferential groove (20). Each reinforcement (30) extends from a radially inner surface of the tread (10) in a radial direction at least to the bottom (21) of an adjacent circumferential groove (20) to form the bottom (21) of that groove (20). A groove reinforcement (30) extends on one side of a groove (20) further in the radial direction than on the other side of that groove (20).
