System for controlling the engagement of a parking brake in a pneumatic braking system, wherein the lever (1) controls a vent valve of the braking system, so that it is fully open at least in an engagement position (B); an intermediate position (C) between the engagement position and a completely disengaged position (A) has a counteracting torque opposing the commutation of the lever (1), the control system comprising means for detecting an open condition of a driver's door (alpha), means for detecting a condition of the lever (1) not in the engagement position (B) (beta) and signalling means, that are activated when the door is open and the lever (1) is not in the engagement position (B).
